Nashville, TN(December 2, 2024) – Country music artist Rick George has made his mark with the release of his self-titled debut EP, a heartfelt collection of songs rooted in the lived experiences of growing up along the Rust Belt. Drawing inspiration from his life in Dayton, Ohio, and beyond, George weaves narratives that resonate with listeners by celebrating the beauty and challenges of everyday life.

From meeting his wife and raising a family to reflecting on life’s milestones, George’s music is a mix of nostalgia, introspection, and gratitude. The EP encapsulates the journey of understanding the past and embracing the future, a sentiment he conveys through authentic lyrics and compelling melodies.

“Putting stories, emotions, and memories into song form can make you weary in the best way possible because it means something to you,” George shares. “I’m excited to share these songs finally and hope they mean something to others.”

Crafting a Sound That Feels Like Home

The EP was recorded, engineered, and self-produced at Dayton Sound Studios, where George collaborated with an ensemble of talented session musicians. The roster includes Shawn Alex (bass guitar), Greg Smith (drums), Greg Wisecup (pedal steel guitar), Jason Clemmons (mandolin), Adam West (harmonica), and Gil Benson (fiddle), with George himself on acoustic guitar and vocals.

Producer Dean Miller, son of Country Music Hall of Fame inductee Roger Miller, praised the project: “Working with Rick was a pleasure. He’s a real professional who is clear about who he is and what he wants as an artist.”

Stories That Stick

The EP’s standout tracks include the reflective “Here We Are,” which explores the passage of time in a long-term relationship. George’s poignant lyrics capture the essence of enduring love and the shared moments—both joyous and challenging—that define a life together.

“I hope people take away whatever is important to them,” George says. “Listeners may think of relationships they’ve had and take a minute to appreciate experiencing life together.”

The EP also includes George’s rendition of Waylon Jennings’ classic “Drinking and Dreaming,” featuring Melonie Cannon. The track, produced by Dean Miller, showcases George’s ability to honor traditional country roots while adding his unique touch.

A Rising Star with a Promising Future

Though this EP marks his debut, George is no stranger to the stage. Over the years, he has performed alongside country music icons like David Allan Coe, Kendell Marvel, Tracy Lawrence, Diamond Rio, Chris Cagle, and Blackhawk. Fans can look forward to a full-length debut album, slated for release in 2025.
